MARIN CITY-SAUSALITO TUNNEL ART PROJECT:

ALL OUR CHILDREN UNITED

Connecting our communities and helping kids start and end their school days with a smile.

On Saturday, June 4, a group of volunteers from Marin City and Sausalito gathered in the park just west of the tunnel to collect stencils and handprints from children, create a handful of large canvas posters using the handprints, eat picnic food, and support the project.

    Imagine this…A permanent sunrise to sunset color displaying children’s handprints in a pedestrian and auto tunnel, a bright source of delight, a creative affirmation of cooperation and mutual support between two communities, an exciting artwork created for Marin City and Sausalito school kids and others who walk or bike through that tunnel daily. This is All Our Children United - A Marin City-Sausalito community-led project in our tunnel.

    Who We Are

  • HISTORY

    Even before the tragic death in 2010 of a young Marin City man inside the underpass that goes under Highway 101 at Marin City-Sausalito, the tunnel was a dark and threatening place for walkers and bicyclists. Community leaders have made serious efforts to address the persistent problems.

 All Our Children United was entirely funded by contributions, large and small, from individuals, foundations, and others who share our excitement about bringing art representing the positive interactions of young people in the adjacent communities by the community to life in 2022.
