CELEBRATION KICKS OFF FINAL PUSH!
On Saturday, June 4, a group of volunteers from Marin City and Sausalito gathered in the park just west of the tunnel to collect stencils and handprints from children, create a handful of large canvas posters using the handprints, eat picnic food, and support the project.
There was fresh good news to celebrate. Thanks to the leadership and strong advocacy of Supervisor Stephanie Moulton-Peters and her aide, Doreen Gounard, the County has approved the Tunnel Art Project and forwarded it to CalTrans for the final approval. The Steering Committee expects to receive approval and be able to transform the tunnel in time for the two-campus K-8 school’s fall opening.
