Imagine this…A permanent rainbow design representing children’s handprints in a pedestrian and auto tunnel, a bright source of delight, a creative affirmation of cooperation and mutual support between two communities, an exciting artwork created for Marin City and Sausalito school kids and others who walk or bike through that tunnel daily. This is All Our Children United - A Marin City-Sausalito community-led project.

Even before the tragic death in 2010 of a young Marin City man inside the underpass that goes under Highway 101 at Marin City-Sausalito, the tunnel was a dark and threatening place for walkers and bicyclists. Community leaders have made serious efforts to address the persistent problems.

Our vision is to transform the experience of walking through the tunnel to Marin City or to Sausalito into an uplifting and unifying experience.

Site-specific artist Raylene Gorum’s rainbow background will be painted in the tunnel.
